The Webber Center was conceived, designed, built and primarily used as an exhibit hall for the college and to serve the community with a facility that previously was not available in Ocala and Marion County. The design parameter was predicated by the requirements imposed by the Smithsonian Institute and their travelling exhibits. This original building was such an overwhelming success that the owner decided to complement the existing facility with a conference/banquet expansion to support the exhibit center. The design has elements of contemporary art deco interpretation with particular material selections that are easily maintainable and cost effective. The mechanical system is a small chiller system that can bring humidity to approximately 50%, that is a Smithsonian requirement. The interior finishes were detailed to provide very elegant finishes. This facility is without exception the most elegant and sought after social facility in the area and is the anchor to the north side of the campus.
