This facility was design to support the city’s latest water and sewer operations for the northwest side of Ocala, which is viewed as the industrial growth sector for the city and is to the immediate North of the Jim Taylor airport. This two story building is designed to be able to manage and operate a 24/7/365 water and sewer plant that has to be in continuous operation. The exposed building components were selected to ensure that repair and maintenance would be kept at a minimum as oxidation of materials due to the off-gassing and other chemical used in daily operation of this facility created a very harsh environment. We researched, designed, specified and detailed materials that would do well in that environment and would be in place for a century. The building provides a second story operations area with offices and lab room and the lower floor was designed with maintenance and storage in mind.
